A picture tells a thousand words - Can you believe them?

Aish.com has put together an interesting video exposing doctored photographs published by Reuters, the Associated Press, and more during the recent coverage of the Lebanon war.

This expose shows a real life wag the dog scenario. In one picture you see a guy pulling people out of the rubble(New York Times) and in another scene the same guy is dead himself getting pulled out of the rubble.

Watch a woman bemoan her bombed out house on multiple days in multiple locations.

This is definitely worth the review, and the Mark Twain quote at the end is priceless.
"If you don't read the newspaper, you are uninformed. If you do read the newspaper you are misinformed."

Attorney seeks $2m from 9/11 widow

After the events on 9/11 a woman married to a man killed on 9/11 had an attorney that sought to claim damages on her behalf.

The government setup the Victims compensation Fund soon after and the fund did not provide funding for attorneys of victims. The attorney took the woman to court for $2,000,000 as a result.

She retained simmons jannace & stagg to represent her in defense against her previous attorney.

Simmons Jannace & Stagg were able to show the federal courts where the lawsuit was entered that the Victims Compensation Fund did not provide protections for attornies attempting to litigate actual victims for their compensation fee.

The Federal courts agreed in part and referred the issue to the State Court for review, and pending that decision the Federal courts left their options open to review the case again in the future.

So in some strange way justice seems to have been painfully served here. The Victims Compensation Fund provided funding for the widow, and by accident, planning, luck or the intelligence of Simmons, Jannace & Stagg protected the widow from her original attorney.

Mistress Describes Osama's perogative for Whitney

On a regular basis many people are surprised to learn that crazy people think and act crazy.  Please don't mis-understand my perspective towards crazy people.  Some of my closest friends and family are crazy, but I too am sometimes surprised at the manifestations of their thoughts and acts.

Now many of us are hearing the important news of the day regarding Osama Bin Laden, notably one of the most famous crazy people in recent history.  Now I'm not going to review whether he is good or bad in this article, at issue here is that he is above all else crazy.

I will not posit evidence of his craziness as applying the subjective label of craziness is just that a subjective label and thus positing evidence is a waste of time that does not strengthen the case for crazy nor does ignoring it weaken the case for crazy.  Crazy is crazy.

We learn via The New York Post (reportedly off skew interpretation) of a book about Osama bin Laden written by his ex-mistress and a former soap opera writer, who's credibility with those two credentials could never be questioned by any crazy person.  The book describes Osama's infatuation with singer (sometimes reportedly crazy herself) Whitney Houston.

Osama via the NYP and book reportedly in addition to his hate for almost everyone else in the world also has a color rule that dictates whom he will or will not marry.  According to the former mistress and soap writer, Osama openly contemplated adding Whitney to his group of wives, which Osama claimed would have been an exception that possibly made his color rule.  So surprise in this one, the reports are claiming that Osama is racist and we now have an additional reason to despise the man.

Now, Kola Boof, the former mistress and former writer for "Days of Our Lives" or DoOL as is commonly used in Blogs according to reported sources that cannot be verified, also claims that she either was or was not a sex slave of Osama's depending on where you get your news.  If you read your news in the US, you will probably read that she was a sex slave, but if you read your news in Bulgaria, you will learn that she does not consider herself a former sex slave and indeed finds the concept of being called a sex slave racist and insulting, but does not feel that claiming to be the former mistress of Osama was insulting nor listening to his prattle about Whitney or his color rules for marriage.

Now, some might think that Osama was just caught up in the unadulterated media hype of love and attention focussed on Whitney in her hey day.  He reportedly loved her voice and thought she was beautiful.  Whitney according to Boof was not a passing fancy for Osama, in fact Osama openly talked about having Whitney's husband Bobby Brown killed to potentially open the door to Osama for a relationship.  Apparently in Osama's version of the Koran, killing a husband is a perfectly acceptable means to winning the heart of that man's wife and marrying her and setting her up in a mansion in Khartoum.

Now, reportedly (I'd hate to libel Osama or Boof here as their credibility is surely undeniable.) Boof will make an appearance on MSNBC to counter the NYP reports that she was a sex slave.  She after all has a name to protect and a book about her sexcapades with Osama to sell, and no one would read her book if they doubted the integrity of the writer due to forced sexual bondage or bad writing on DoOL.

Airline Reactions to Recent Terror Issues

Airline Reactions to recent Terror

CNN & New Yorker talking about Planning of Lebanon War from Months ago

New Yorker claiming solid sources indicate that White House policy have seized on the opportunity of attacks against Israel to launch a war against Lebanon.  Watch the interview, and make your own judgement.  The tactical logic does make sense in the arguments made my Seymour Hersh of New Yorker, Magazine. This posting is not promoting the existence of a conspiracy theory, but we would not simply believe that the full details of the events unfolding in the Middle East recently are completely and thoroughly captured in the headlines. Unfortunately, we do have a US administration that is less than candid with the world, the US Congress and the people of the United States.

YouTube starts to make its mark on Politics

Just like Blogs and internet money were the latest greatest thing during the 2004 election. YouTube and Google video promise to reshape the political landscape in the upcoming mid term election of 2006.

Next to teeny bopper clips, humor clips, and political video clips are one of the largest groups on YouTube (especially the anti-Bush variety of clips).

Now a new group known as TAKE BACK THE CAPITOL is sponsoring a contest as part of the launch of their new site. They will be collecting clips aimed at 'overturning Republican control of congress in the November 2006 election.' Their contest will offer cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100.

Their simply looking for short 12 second videos to help make the point. Now in general this is a great campaign promotion from the perspective of design (not siding for or against their goal - well OK, I'm for the campaign, afterall this is an editorial blog!).

The beauty of this promotion is that the group will gather up content directed at their website, that content is a grass roots collections of regular people expressing their view. The genius of the idea is that if successful they will receive hundreds of short videos, and might latch on to that one great viral video that will circulate around and around the country, world and internet making their point for them. No ad firms necessary just the power of the people's creativity and ability to circulate information in digital form through the new medium of YouTube.
