President Bush’s Tour of Compassion

President Bush wrapped up his Latin American tour this week in Mexico with a visit to Mexican President Felipe Calderon. President Bush and Calderon discussed a variety of topics, however immigration reform and drug trafficking would be the central issues during the last stop of the tour.

President Bush used this opportunity to send a message to the Mexican people as well as those in Congress back home. The President pledged to Calderon and to the Mexican people that he will work as hard as possible to make comprehensive immigration reform a reality. Bush went on to say that not only would this policy strengthen ties with the Mexican people, but will also strengthen both countries security.
