Avoiding Postal Gridlock with Placement Exam Preparation

I worked for the United States Postal Service for four years, while I worked my way through college.  I learned a number of great lessons from the postal service which is often ridiculed for inefficiency and work place meltdowns ending in violence.

The first thing I learned is that most of the Postal Service is an extremely well run and very efficient organization dedicated to continuous improvement at levels that even Baldridge award winning Motorola another former employer could not emulate on a good day.

Some of the bad press and reputation the USPS has comes from a handful of postal facilities that have not adapted with the times or have not been able to keep up with population growth.  The Postal service employs over 1 million people and is the largest employer in the United States.

With that many people working there, they have to utilize many systems to place people and their key metric is postal exam scores.  Temporary and Permanent hire employees must take, pass and do well on Postal Exams.  I've taken the test twice.  I took it the first time to get hired, and the second time more seriously to get moved into a permanent position and later promoted.

Our sponsors today at AceYourPostalExam work to provide people with practice and help at passing the postal exams.

These tests are not hard if you have practice and preparation and know what to expect, but you might not get the result you desire if you try and attempt them without any preparation. I have always been great at taking tests of all types, but this is a test like none I had seen from the SAT's to the ACT's to Military tests or anything in college.

If you want a position in the postal service, you need to work and prepare for the test. It can definitely help you launch a new career or even improve on your odds of getting a promotion by improving your test score.
