The Big Sleazy Votes in Jefferson-Still Target of Federal Investigation for $90k in Freezer

It takes a certain amount of moxie to run for re-election after the FBI raids your place and finds ninety thousand dollars in cash in your freezer. The FBI claims that he was filmed taking the cash.

Rep. William Jefferson a Louisiana Democrat won re-election in a run off election against State Representative Karen Carter. Most analysts believed that his challengers would unite to defeat him.

But that was not to be the way of things. Jefferson's re-election is likely to embarrass Democrats as they ascend to control Congress. Jefferson has stated that he expects to be indicted after his alleged co-conspirators plead guilty already.

Guilty or not and even in an innocent until proven guilty land like our own, it doesn't look good, we have to wonder why did he choose to stash the money in his freezer? I mean he could have put it in a safe or something, but the freezer? Who would that really fool at the end of the day?

I mean if he's innocent aren't there better ways to protect his money. There's the obvious choice, he could put it into the bank. He could invest it in the stock market. He could follow the path of Hillary Clinton and invest $100k in futures and make a million dollars. If futures are too exotic he could invest in gold and bury it in the back yard, well maybe not in New Orleans since he and the rest of the Federal Government did such a poor job of saving that city, but I'm sure he has a nice safe place in Washington.

His ludicrous effort to stash money in the freezer sounds to much like a college or high school attempt to hide a playboy or marijuana or something.

Who taught this man how to save money?
