Its being reported that Saddam Hussein could be living his last hour. Reports indicate that he could face his executioner as he wakes up this morning.
It would appear that no one is protesting or acting on his death. The truth might even be that Saddam is better off dead for everyone from the new Iraqi Government, to the US even to terrorists and resistance fighters in Iraq that would prefer a martyr in Saddam as opposed to a living power broker to get in their way.
Saddam's lawyer in Rome had not received any prior notice of the execution time and date. He appears to be hiding outside of Iraq for his own safety for obvious reasons.
Questions still loom as to whether or not Hussein's body will be put on some type of public display after the execution. Hussein is in American custody and will be executed immediately upon his release to Iraqi forces. American troops may literally walk him to the gallows where he will be hanged.
